Two Wings of a Bird

Bodhi Nite 2019 is a celebration of UNIBUDS' 39th anniversary. It is a wondrous night full of amazing performances such as singing, acting, dancing and multimedia presentation to present the teachings of the Buddha in a fun and entertaining way. Not only through performances, we will also have Buddhist speeches from our patrons, Venerable Phra Thepsilaporn from Wat Pa Buddharangsee and Venerable Tsang Hui from Hwa Tsang Monastery.

This year, the theme portrayed is Wisdom and Compassion. In Buddhism, wisdom is gained through understanding the true nature of life without prejudice or self-centredness. Compassion is the feeling and thought of wanting all beings to be free from suffering. With wisdom as a guide, we practice compassion; but it is through practising compassion that we gradually perfect our wisdom. Hence, just like a bird who needs both its wings to soar, we need both wisdom and compassion to live a balanced, happy and peaceful life.

If the amazing performances and meaningful theme had not piqued your interest yet, we will also provide free vegetarian dinner on the night.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and see for yourself how Wisdom and Compassion can be applied in our lives through this unforgettable night.
